Will you at last have those Kylo Ren vs. Darth Maul duels you’ve dreamed of?
Disney Infinity may not be for everyone, but it’s certainly been a fantastic way for us to act out our favorite nerd fantasies (as long as they have to do with whatever property Disney owns). With Disney Infinity 3.0, the toybox expanded its reach into the Star Wars universe, and with it we got a dedicated campaign for each trilogy with a cast of playable heroes to match… plus some additions from Star Wars Rebels.
And while we all love playing with Luke Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano… everyone was kind of wondering when we’d be able to play with the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Not only could it be a whole lot of fun… but how each of them played could tell us a lot about the characters themselves. Thankfully according to some recent reports we now know who will be playable and when they’ll be released.
So, which cast members are confirmed to be joining Disney Infinity?
Finn, Rey, Poe, and Kylo Ren are the ones we currently know about. Their figures also look fantastic. Here are Rey and Finn, both in and out of packaging:
And let’s not forget Poe, who’s looking mighty fine in his flight suit. Notice the detailing of the floor they’re all on: it looks like it belongs to the Resistance base or the ruins we’ve seen in some of the promo shots:
And, of course, there’s Kylo Ren:
Anything else we should know?
There will be a new story level set on Jakku. Apparently, our heroes will be searching for “a much-needed ally.” We’re thinking that’s going to be Han Solo… but at this point anything goes so it’s possible we may see an older Luke show up in the game. You can see what the level looks like here:
Daisy Ridley and John Boyega will also be voicing their respective characters.
When will the figures be released?
December 18th, so you’ll be able to leave the theater after seeing The Force Awakens and buy these guys right after if you so wish.
How are they priced and packaged?
Apparently, the level set will come with the Rey and Finn figures, which will be priced at $35. The individual Poe Dameron and Kylo Ren figures will be on sale for $13 dollars each. Apparently, there will also be new power disks available but we don’t know what they will add to the game as of yet.
Overall, the set looks great. Though, we have to admit we really hope we’ll get a Captain Phasma figure at some point in the future. Her character design would translate really well to the art style.
