Have you ever wondered why everyone understands each other in Guardians of the Galaxy?
After all, there’s seemingly hundreds of different kinds of aliens, surely they must be speaking at least as many different languages. Even the Guardians themselves don’t share a single common species between them.
So how does everyone communicate? Turns out this isn’t a case of “don’t think about too hard about it,” as James Gunn revealed on Twitter last week:
Clever. You can see the mention of that implant in the image above. It’s listed under “Enhancements.”
But does that mean that none of the Guardians actually speak English? They’re just having their respective languages translated to each other? Because that would mean when the Guardians and the Avengers eventually meet up, Tony Stark and Rocket won’t immediately be BFFs, and that is unacceptable to me.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will arrive on May 5, 2017. In the meantime, we have Civil War to look forward to in the MCU next.
