Bladestorm: Nightmare is a strategy game with a fascinating twist.

Set in the midst of the infamous Hundred Years’ War between England and France, gamers can choose to play Bladestorm Mode, which is a realistic depiction of the historical conflict, or in Nightmare mode, which turns the entire thing into historical fiction and uses the Hundred Years’ War as a setting for an invasion of all sorts of supernatural creatures, such as dragons, that make the conflict that much more complicated.

Bladestorm: Nightmare released on March 17, 2015.

Shiftlings – PS4, Xbox One, PC

shiftlings

Shiftlings is one of those games that you specifically bring your goofiest friend over to play with you. It’s an outer-space puzzle solving game that features two protagonists in space suits, sharing one air hose.

The setting of the game is a reality show (yes, in space) where the contestants have to solve a series of puzzles to win prizes, all while being attached to each other via the air hose.

Shiftlings released March 4, 2015.

Helldivers – PS4, PS3, Vita

helldivers

Helldivers is a twin-stick shooter that punishes gamers who attempt to play it like other twin-stick shooters. Because Helldivers features limited ammo and friendly fire, utilizing reckless Contra style shooting isn’t recommended.

The game features tons of planets to conquer, a wide range of difficulty levels and a fair control scheme that doesn’t ever make you feel unfairly handicapped when facing the relentless onslaught of enemies.

Helldivers released March 3, 2015.

ScreamRide – Xbox One, Xbox 360

Screamride

While ScreamRide doesn’t offer the same kind of simulation experience that Roller Coaster Tycoon does, it still allows players to live out their sociopathic theme park operator fantasies.

The central theme of ScreamRide is dangerous rides that drive riders to the breaking point. Players have opportunities to both ride and create these scream-inducing death machines and destroy buildings and cause all sorts of general mayhem in the process.

ScreamRide released March 3, 2015.

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. – 3DS

code-name-steam

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is an addictive turn-based strategy game with third-person-shooter elements. The game is both fun to play, a bit unconventional, and very interesting.

Every level of the game involves a team facing a team of enemy aliens in turns, using steam to move across the board as well as attack enemies.

Conserving steam allows players to execute “Overwatch attacks” during the enemy’s turn, which let them deal damage should the enemy wander into their sights with a potential to stun that character for the rest of the turn. At its core, the game is hardcore Americana at its finest, featuring characters like Abe Lincoln, Tom Sawyer and characters from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. released on March 13, 2015.
