Batman: Arkham Knight has a weirdly interactive intro, but it gets a whole lot stranger on your second playthrough.
Spoilers for the beginning of Arkham Knight (and I guess, the end of Arkham City?)
So normally, the game opens with you cremating the Joker’s body, mashing buttons to keep the flame going. That’s probably symbolism or something. On starting a second playthrough though… something pretty disturbing happens:
So yeah, Joker pops up, loosens your bowels considerably, and says, “this is how it happened, this is how the Joker died,” aping the opening narration of the game.
How do you unlock this opening?
You need to complete the main story of the game at least once, then start a new game afterwards. You don’t necessarily need to play on New Game Plus mode.
What’s next for Batman/Rocksteady?
We don’t know what the plan is going forward is yet, but there sure are a lot of references to Superman in this game…
