Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War will feature big names like Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Daniel Bruhl (Baron Helmut Zemo), Frank Grillo (Crossbones), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier) and Elizabeth Olsen. Another name was just added to that cast list, Martin Freeman.
You probably know him from his role as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit movies. More recently he starred as Lester Nygaard in Fargo, the TV series — a role which earned him a Golden Globe nomination.
Who Is Martin Freeman Going to Play?
Producer Kevin Feige released a statement about Freeman, showing his excitement for working with the actor.
“From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim in ‘The Office,’ Martin’s range from the dramatic to the comedic has consistently impressed us. We couldn’t be more honored or excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
Pretty exciting indeed. Freeman is an excellent actor, so it will be pleasing to see him mingle with the Marvel crowd. There’s no word on who he’s going to play. What do you think?
Civil War will see Iron Man and Captain America at odds, each assembling their own team of supporters.
