DirectX 12 Will Be Unveiled at GDC

Microsoft has announced plans to debut DirectX 12 at GDC later this month. Windows graphics development manager at Microsoft Anuj Gosalia will present the new graphics API during a panel on March 20.

While the company did not reveal what exactly the reveal will entail, the panel itself will center around Microsoft’s plan to provide better tools and support for developers on an “unparalleled assortment of hardware.”

DirectX 12 is the first “full” release of the API since DirectX 11 was released in 2008.
