Not one of those weeks that is gonna blow you away but I’ve never complained about a new Calexico album and you shouldn’t either. The southwest roots rockers are back and I’m happy for it. Everything I’ve heard from The Thread That Keeps Us is masterful – tight and snappy, and, like everything from the Tuscon fusion band, a step ahead of the rest of the music world. Remember this one for potential album of the year!

Long running Christian metal outfit Sleeping Giant unveil it’s fifth and final effort, I Am.

My Recommendation
