General manager of DICE Patrick Bach explained the available game modes in more detail.

“I would say they occupy that space…where you play alone, or you can play co-op, split screen or on the internet. The game is first and foremost a multiplayer game. Battlefront was a multiplayer game. That’s the game we wanted to create — to recreate the battles of the Original Trilogy.”

That explains why there’s no traditional single-player campaign. It is promised that the missions are bite-sized, repeatable on multiple difficulties and are heavily inspired by “Star Wars battle fantasies.”

Okay DICE, now you have our full attention.
