Star Wars Battlefront: Here’s All The Playable Heroes

There’s more than who we’ve seen so far.

Star Wars Battlefront just entered open beta, which means if you have an Origin account and a capable computer there’s no excuse not to at least check it out. And check it out people have… to a really big extent. Not only have people played it, but they dug into the guts of the game and datamined the heck out of it. In doing so, they discovered some new heroes that will be a part of the final game.

Who are the new heroes?

Han Solo, Princess Leia, and The Emperor.

How many heroes does that make in total?

Six. The Rebels have Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia. The Imperials’ heroes are Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and the Emperor.

How will the heroes play?

force push

Well, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker have already been shown off in gameplay trailers and behind the scenes demos. Boba Fett has also been seen using his jet pack and flame thrower, so we already have an idea how he works… though imagine they’ll be throwing in some other gadgets of his including his rocket launcher.

As for Han Solo and Princess Leia, we imagine they’ll be saddled with hand blasters and be very mobile, but it’s hard to think of what distinguishing features they would have on the ground. Han Solo, however, has the distinction of owning the Millennium Falcon, so we imagine playing as him will allow the player to jump into the ship and really take control of the skies.

BZZZZZZ

As for the Emperor, on the ground the guy is going to be a power house. Obviously, you’ll have access to force pushes and such… but the real claim to fame of this Sith lord is Force lightning. He’ll probably be pretty slow (being an old man and all), but we think he’ll be armed with some pretty impressive arcs of lightning the player and throw around. As for whether he’ll have a lightsaber… that remains to be seen. Though he had one in Revenge of the Sith, he seemed to do away with it in the original films. We can see the developers bringing it out, but we hope they keep the Emperor to force powers only.

What ships will the heroes be able to pilot?

MF

We’re not entirely sure that’s how the system works, but if you grab a ship power up while in a hero we can see Han having the Falcon, Luke with his X-Wing, Darth Vader with his Tie Advanced, Boba Fett with Slave I, the Emperor in a shuttlecraft, and we’re not sure what Princess Leia would have.

All things considered… it’s probably the best to keep the Emperor on the ground.
