Suicide Squad: Here’s What Killer Croc Will Look Like in the DC Cinematic Universe

We’ve already had a chance to see the cast of Suicide Squad all dolled up, and several of the actors in costume like Jared Leto as Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Will Smith as Deadshot. One character we haven’t seen yet — at least in a closeup by himself — is Killer Croc.

What Does the Full Killer Croc Costume Look Like?

Thanks to a leaked image from Thalia Worldwide, we finally have a chance to see Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje all decked out in his Killer Croc outfit. Check it out:

It looks great, but you still can’t see his face real well can you? Let’s take a look at a better image of Croc’s face from Just Jared.

137463, EXCLUSIVE: Will Smith and Scott Eastwood film scenes for 'Suicide Squad' with Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje in full costume as Killer Croc. The production closed down a busy Toronto street to film what appeared to be a plane crash scene. Toronto, Canada - Tuesday May 19, 2015

The second image definitely gives us a better look at Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s makeup. His skin looks reptilian though I’d argue it doesn’t look explicitly like a croc, but that’s okay. Also, his teeth are filed and sharp and take note of his hand.

In the comics, Killer Croc is actually born with a skin condition called atavism. This is what is responsible for his reptilian-like skin. The condition causes his skin to harden and gives him unique healing abilities and super-strength. He also has sharp claws and teeth, which we can see in the image above.

When he first shows up, he appears as he does here with scaly and dry looking skin. In the later comics, his appearance changes and he looks much more like a crocodile.

Killer Croc is an enemy of Batman and was actually responsible for the death of Jason’s Todd’s (Robin) parents in the earlier books. Later on, this was changed to incorporate Two-Face.

We don’t know for sure yet what his origin is going to be in Suicide Squad, it’s possible they won’t even reveal it and instead we’ll meet the character well after he’s established himself as a villain. Going by appearance alone, it looks like they’re tapping into an early version of the character.
