Stocking up on some movies for when those temperatures start dropping? Here’s what we’ll be checking out on Blu-ray this month.
October 2
Avengers: Age of Ultron
The Avengers assemble for their biggest adventure yet. Tony Stark almost destroys the world! Thor discovers the Infinity Stones! The Hulk smashes! Hawkeye realizes he’s kind of useless! You know the drill, complete your collection.
October 6
Insidious: Chapter 3
The latest addition to the Insidious series is actually a prequel, set a few years before the events of the first film. That’s a weird way to end a trilogy, but hey, any excuse to head back into the Further.
October 13
Tomorrowland
Tomorrowland crashed and burned at the box office, but for what it’s worth, I really enjoyed it. It’s a pretty intriguing setting to explore, and it’s hard to hate on the optimistic message. There’s really no chance we’ll see another feature length adventure in this world, but it’s worth at least one trip.
October 20
Jurassic World
Jurassic World proved to be divisive among fans, but for my part, it was everything I needed from a Jurassic sequel. It was pretty incredible to finally see John Hammond’s vision realized on the big screen… before everything went terribly, terribly wrong of course. Plus, Star-Lord has a raptor squad.
Back to the Future: The Complete Adventures
To commemorate the 30th anniversary, this box set will include all three Back to the Future films, the complete animated series, a 64-page visual history booklet, and light-up Flux Capacitor packaging. If the $100 price tag is a bit too much, don’t worry, you can also pick up a standard Back to the Future: 30th Anniversary Trilogy release for about $30.
