We got word last week that the Joker would be headed to Gotham before the end of season one, and now we know when.
A new teaser trailer strongly hints that the Joker will be making an appearance on next week’s episode, “The Blind Fortune Teller.”
So who’s playing the Joker?
This guy, Cameron Monaghan:
Wait, so it’s kid-Joker?
It would appear that way. We’ve seen kid Catwoman, kid Scarecrow, and kid Poison Ivy, so it’s not that much of a stretch to think that the Joker is in that age-bracket. That being said, I really hope Gotham doesn’t give the Joker the ol’ Anakin Skywalker treatment, and accidentally retroactively remove everything cool and frightening about the character.
Alright, let’s see that teaser.
Here you go:
Let’s see that kid again.
Creeeepy…
Could Gotham just be messing with us? This seems like a weird way to introduce such an iconic character.
True, but that trailer is not especially subtle (he’s no joke!). Monaghan also tweeted the following, which is again, about as subtle as a jackhammer:
You really should watch #Gotham next week. I’m not clowning around.

That being said, it’s totally possible that Gotham is screwing with us, but given that there’s only a few episodes to go before the end of the season, I think we can chalk this one up to a Joker-in-season-two tease.
Anything else of interest going on next week?
Yeah, check out this image from the episode:
Notice the words on that trailer? It reads “The Flying Graysons,” aka the parents of Dick Grayson, one of the future Robins. Obviously if Bruce Wayne is still a little kid, Robin is barely a fetus at best, so don’t expect any dynamic duo-ing. But my guess is that his parents will figure into the story in some major way.
Cool, when does the episode air?
“The Blind Fortune Teller” will premiere on February 16 on Fox.
